Make A Wish Return : Cookery and Art Practice

“Make A Wish Return” in Wan Chai-- inviting fellow participants to silently adhere to the daily practice of creating, crafting, cooking, eating and cleansing, with a hope to take good care of ourselves in the chaotic world. Inviting the Wan Chai neighbourhood to share recipes, explore the diverse cultures in the region through what we eat, and revisit the importance of daily life so as to face the changing society together.

Bringing food to our events not only connects the neighbourhoods in Wan Chai but also give artists more room to play. The experience of cooking and eating relates dearly to our five senses and daily living. This time in Wan Chai, you are invited to join the artists in appreciating the tasty experience.

Eat (verb.)

Every eating occasion - from the production of raw materials to cooking methods, eating utensils and scenes – involves specific traditions and etiquette of different cultures. Every eating experience represents a rich cultural scene.

X

Community (noun.)

Residents in a community naturally share similar experiences but also differences. It is our hope that through exploring the eating culture, residents will find their common ground for neighbours with diverse backgrounds and beliefs.

You are going to learn from Mrs. Kishimoto on how to incorporate local organic farm products and the "macrobiotic lifestyle" into our daily living, while with Cheung Mei you will grow your own plant of local vegetables, get tips on how to grow vegetable seedlings and be delighted by hearing interesting stories of local farmers.
